*Nursing a broken heart (everyone said it would happen, so at least it wasn't unexpected),
*going to bed at 5pm on weekdays & 4am on weekends...
*Punch dancing (from Footloose, duh!) in the streets of Bostanli with Mina & Janelle,
*eating way too much nutella/waffles,
*bowling in the most Americanized place in Alsancak,
*"escaping" from class to the library,
*Smoking nargile (flavored tobacco out of a hookah pipe) :)
*Texting constantly with my kankalar (best friends)
*Telling Turkish people that our national anthem begins "To the WINDOW, To the WALL..."
*Spending too much time on the bus/feribot (ferry boat)/metro
*Eating so much börek (cheese pastry made with a phyllo dough) I want to puke
*& learning to count my blessings.
*Reading The World According to Garp
*& finding out that some peoples' lives (though fictional) ARE weirder than mine.
*Trying to apply for scholarships
*& feeling the loom of college before me.
*BECOMING A CITY GIRL.

Hmmmm.......sounds like you have been up to something over there.....we, on the other hand, get to have fun with Grandma Al and Grandma Dana carrying on about hospital masks while on airplanes. Such as life.
hey - those hookla pipes have been found to have major disease in those - it was in the newspapers.
I sure wish I was with you - you have such a great way of describing your adventures!
